The Global Specialist Physiotherapy Telehealth Clinic provides expert physiotherapy consultations for knee injuries, from the comfort of your home.

Whether you’re dealing with a new injury, considering surgery, or looking for guidance on ongoing pain or recovery, we can assist.

MRI Review:

BEST FOR YOU IF: You want an expert review of your knee MRI to understand whether a non-surgical pathway is likely to be a good option for you.

If your knee MRI shows an ACL or meniscus injury, a Global consultant can review your results to assess the injury pattern and what it may mean for non-surgical recovery potential.

This is a useful starting point if you are early in the decision-making process, or if you want clarity on whether you are likely to be a good candidate for conservative management.

Please note: The MRI review does NOT include an assessment of your history, lifestyle and goals, and does not include the development of a rehabilitation plan. For a more in depth assessment, an Initial Consultation would suit you best.

To arrange your MRI review: Click the button below and select the next available time slot (you are NOT required to attend this meeting time). Then email your MRI link or DICOM images to kieran@globalspecialistphysio.com. Within 48 hours we will send you an email with the results of your MRI review.

How a telehealth consultation works:

Step One: Book Your Appointment

Choose a time that suits you and complete the brief booking form. You don’t need a referral.

Step Two: Receive Your Secure Video Link

We’ll email you a link before your appointment. At the scheduled time, simply click the link on your phone, tablet, or computer to join your expert  physiotherapist.

Step Three: Set Up Your Space

For the best experience, be in a quiet, well-lit area with your device stable and at about eye level. Ideally, wear comfortable clothing - shorts and a singlet are ideal - so we can see the area we’re assessing and guide you through movements safely.

During your consultation, we’ll listen to your story, review any scans or reports you have, assess your movement, and discuss your diagnosis, options, and next steps. You’ll leave with a clear plan and an opportunity to book follow-up sessions if needed.

  • In most cases, yes. We aim for continuity so you can build momentum and your clinician can track your progress over time.

Occasionally, sessions may need to change due to clinician availability, or because an internal referral is likely to give you the best fit and outcome (for example, a particular sport goal, complexity, or timing). If a change is recommended, we will explain why and make the handover as smooth as possible.

General information only, not medical advice. If you have a preference for a specific clinician, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate it.

  • Both options provide evidence-based, non-surgical knee care. The difference is mainly about who you are seeing and what level of specialist input you want.

    • Dr Kieran Richardson: Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with extensive postgraduate training, including doctorate-level Fellowship qualifications. Many people book with Dr Kieran for complex cases, decision-making support, and his long-standing reputation in knee and musculoskeletal care.

    • Global consultant: Experienced, fully qualified physiotherapist who has completed additional training and ongoing mentoring within Global Specialist Physiotherapy, with a strong focus on evidence-based, non-surgical management of knee injuries (including ACL and meniscus).

If you are unsure who to book with, choose the option that best matches your needs and budget. We can also help guide you.

General information only, not medical advice. The most appropriate clinician depends on your individual situation.

  • It depends on the type of support you want.

    • 60 minutes: Best if you want strong accountability and real-time coaching. This is ideal if you want to go through your exercise program in detail, have technique closely supervised, or you have lots of questions to work through.

    • 30 minutes: Best if you are confident doing your exercises independently and mainly want a focused check-in, progress review, and program update.

If you are unsure, a 60 minute session is often the safest choice early on, then many people move to 30 minute sessions once their program is running smoothly.

General information only, not medical advice. Your clinician can recommend the best session length based on your stage and goals.

  • A stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a small space where you can stand and move safely.

If you have any relevant imaging reports, previous rehab plans, or questions you want answered, have them ready. We will guide you through what we need.

General information only, not medical advice. If you have safety concerns about exercising at home, tell your clinician at the start of the session.

  • Telehealth is designed to be practical and action-focused. We will take a detailed history, discuss your goals, and guide you through movement tests and exercises that are appropriate for your stage.

You will leave with a clear plan, including what to do now, what to avoid for the moment, and what progress should look like before the next step.

General information only, not medical advice. Some conditions require in-person assessment. If that is the case, we will tell you.

  • A lot of knee rehab is exercise-based and can be done very effectively via telehealth.

Where appropriate, we can also teach you simple, safe self-management techniques (for example, self-mobilisation or soft tissue techniques) so you can get the benefits of hands-on input at home.

If we think you would benefit from in-person assessment or hands-on care, we will tell you and help you plan the next step. Some people combine telehealth guidance with a local physiotherapist for in-person support.

General information only, not medical advice. If you have red flags or urgent symptoms, seek in-person medical care.
